Tuning the Spam Quarantine:

The best way to start using the Spam Quarantine is to log in when you check your email for the first few weeks.

The quarantine shows today’s spam and any False Positives
("False Positives" are mail messages you really want, but were trapped by the system). Note that you can view “Today”, “Yesterday”, ”View all”, or “Select Date”.

The spam quarantine holds your spam for 5 days then it automatically gets deleted. Because of this you can either save time and ignore the spam or delete it.

We recommend ignoring the spam so you don’t delete, by accident, any false positive messages. However select a false positive message and deliver it, choosing to add it to your allow rules list.

Adding the user to your “allow list”, means that the system will never trap a message from that user again.

After doing this for a couple of weeks you should be able to glance at your daily digest to see if there is any false positives and only log in if you need to.

Your daily digest is an email message that the system sends to you every night that shows the items in your quarantine in one message. It lists them by email address and subject. Since any messages after the digest message is sent aren’t listed, and if you are an avid email user, you may want to check your quarantine manually in the morning and afternoon. You can make this very fast by adding the login page to your favorites and saving the username and password.

Adding addresses to your Block list:

The Block list should only be used for mail like a message from a mailing list that you can’t get off of, or if it is from a legitimate address that repeatedly emails you.
Most spam messages use false addresses that change every time, so it doesn’t work to add them to your block list and it actually slows the system down if you do.
