Excellent Photos of 2008 Race
These are by far the best photos taken during the event.

Reigning Solar Drag Race World Champions Return.
South Whidbey finishes in 39.8 seconds and Wenatchee High School finishes in 45.2 seconds
South Whidbey Island overtakes Wenatchee High School. South Whidbey finished in 39.8 seconds and Wenatchee High School finished in 45.2 seconds. Not bad for a very cloudy and overcast day.

Wenatchee High School.
Wenatchee High School finishes in 45.2 seconds
Wenatchee High School did an awesome job with just four 165 watt solar modules. Running under very cloudy weather they managed to challenge Whidbey's racer that had twice as many solar panels. Wenatchee's solar modules on this year's racer were donated by BP Solar. REC Silicon has donated 700 watts of solar cells to each of three high schols in Washington state that will be racing in 2009. Wenatchee High School is mounting their solar cells on a lightweight/aerodynamic composite panel in preparation for the June 2009 event.

Congratulations By Dr. Andy Frank
Professor Andy Frank congratulates Wenatchee High School.
Professor Andy Frank from the University of California at Davis congratulates the Wenatchee High School on their successful first place finish in the high school division. Dr. Frank is considered to be the father of the plug-in hybrid electric car. He has been developing solutions to break our dependence on foreign oil for 30 years.

Team Photon Phantom
Team Photon Phantom sponsored by Brooks Solar.
Randy Brooks, along with his family and friends put together a sleek racer to compete in 2008. Although Team Photon Phantom ran under the cloudy race day conditions, bright sunshine could easily have changed the outcome. It would have been very interesting to see how they would have done against Whidbey and Wenatchee.

Republic Middle and High School
Republic Middle and High School's Entry from Ferry County.
Republic Middle School and High School competed again in this year's race. They had a unique voltage regulation system to maximize the power output of their solar array. They did quite well in spite of overcoming technical difficulties prior to the race and having to replace one of their wheels that was lost somewhere on their journey to Wenatchee.

More 2008 photos will be added soon. Keep checking back.
